Green Eggs And...

...Ham, but we didn't have any so we had to celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday with green eggs and chicken pie and blueberries.  If you weren't aware, Friday, March 2nd, was Dr. Seuss' birthday.  They had been talking about it at Emily's preschool all week.  Emily was reading all the Dr. Seuss books she could find at school and home.  So I decided it would be fun to eat green eggs for breakfast on Friday morning.  She loved seeing them on her plate but wouldn't even try a bite.  She knew that the food coloring made them green but because she isn't a big egg fan anyway, she couldn't get on board with the green part.  However, that is all she talked about all day and asked for more green eggs for dinner.  I agreed under the condition that she had to at least try one bite.  She agreed.

She ate more than one bite and said, "they aren't my favorite but I like them".

We had fun with the green eggs and we have loved reading our Dr. Seuss books.  Here are some of my favorite Dr. Seuss quotes:

“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.”
― Dr. Seuss, I Can Read With My Eyes Shut!

“Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.”
― Dr. Seuss, Happy Birthday to You!

“Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.”
― Dr. Seuss
