The 100th Day Of School

Emily's class was invited to dress up like a 100 year old for the 100th day of school.  Emily was so adorable!

Emily and one of her good friends.

Emily and one of her teachers.

They also each brought 100 pieces of a snack to share.  They made a big trail mix to celebrate the 100th day of school!

An Extra Pink Valentine's Day

Emily loves the color pink so she decided to get into the Valentine's spirit with PINK EYE!  She woke up with her eye stuck shut yesterday morning.  Her doctors office was closed because of the snow so they called a prescription in for her.  She also seemed to have a cold so she didn't feel great but we tried to have some fun anyway.

White Stuff Everywhere

In the past two days we have gotten around 8 inches of snow/ice at our house.  It been beautiful.  The city is shut down and we've been having lots of fun!

Barney loves the snow.  He looked like a black and white lab.

These containers were collecting snow for snow cream!

This is her first snow cream ever!

She is a fan!

Emily made a Snow Princess!

Then she build a little baby Olaf from the movie Frozen.

Olaf ended up with a unibrow:)

Child labor...if only she was a bit stronger we'd really have something.

Father/Daughter Sweetheart Dance 2014

Friday night was a big night for Emily and her daddy. It was the Father/Daughter Sweetheart Dance that our church sponsors each year. Last year she missed the dance because we were at Disney.  She was so disappointed even though we were in Disney!!!  This dance is so cool because they have little girls up to girls in their 20's who go to this dance.  Some girls come home from college especially to go with their dads.  It really is such a special event.

Friday was an early release day from school so we were able to spend some time getting her nails and hair done.  It's so fun to see the posts on my facebook page of all the girls getting nails and hair done for the dance and then picture of the girls and their dads leaving for the dance!

Nails were first!

Here are her sweet little toes.  The nail matched but I never got a good picture.

She was so excited to get to wear the flip flops out of the nail salon.  She has them in her dress up area now.

Next she got to go to my salon for the first time to get her hair done!
My hair dresser, Jessica, did a fabulous job!  The only thing she didn't like was how hot her hair felt after being curled with the curling iron.

So pretty.  Then we rushed home to get dressed.  Emily and Jeff were going to dinner before the dance.

Emily didn't want Jeff to see her dress until they were ready to go.

They both looked amazing!!!  Look at my beautiful girl!

They had a wonderful evening.  Here is a picture taken at the dance!

Such wonderful memories!

Six And A Half

Last Monday, February 3rd, was Emily's half birthday.  We always save some of her birthday cake and freeze it for her half birthday.  We've been having some issues with our freezer and the cake we saved had lots of freezer burn. So we bought a little cake to celebrate.  Here she is blowing out her 6 and a half candles.  Wow, this 6 months has gone REALLY FAST!

A Change For This Blog

Three years ago, I started this blog as a way to document Emily's childhood so I wouldn't forget the day to day special moments with her and our family.  I even print the blog posts into books to keep as scrapbooks for Emily.  It has also been a great way for family and friends who we don't see every day to keep up with our lives.  I have always had security measures in place to protect Emily's identity but Jeff and I have decided that it is time to do more.

In a few days my blog will be going private.  If you are a "follower" of my blog or if I know you read it, I have added you to my list of people who can view it.  You will just need to sign in before you read it.  If you are interested in being able to view this blog please send me a message and let me know so I can make sure you are added to the list.  Once it goes private, please let me know if you are having trouble signing in and viewing it.

Thanks so much for being a part of our lives!  We are thankful for all the love and support from our family and friends!

Snow Day

We've had some snow twice in two weeks.  The snow hasn't been good for building a snowman but Emily managed to find lots of other fun things to do instead!  She played outside a total of about 4 hours the other day (off and on)!

Time for a hot chocolate and cookie break!

Back out again!  I pulled her around the neighborhood                                 with the sled, stopping to sled down little hills.
Then she and her friends took turns pulling each other around!  So much fun!

The next day was another day off from school.  She had a friend over to play.  This game is called "Fibber".  Guess who lost?
