Daddy's Girl

Today is the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on 9 11.  I was teaching preschool and ironically, we had just finished saying the pledge of allegiance and the children were washing their hands for snack when our director came in to tell the teachers about the first plane hitting the first tower.  It's something you never forget.  Today we do remember and my heart goes out to all the people who lost love ones on this day 10 years ago.

I feel for my husband who's birthday is today.  It's got to be a difficult day to celebrate your birthday but he always says that it was his birthday long before it became such a sad day.  So today, we also celebrate with Jeff!  We are so thankful for him.  Last night we had a little celebration and of course, Emily helped Jeff blow out his candles.

Emily does love her daddy so much.  She is a girly girl for sure but she loves to help her daddy out in his workshop.  Here she is pretending to build like Daddy.

One day she went out to his workshop to hang out.  She asked Jeff for a piece of wood so he gave her one.  Then she wanted screws and a screwdriver which he gave her too.  Then she asked for something to cut the wood with.  This is when Jeff decided to come and see what she wanted to do with all these materials.  Jeff cut the wood for her and drilled holes in the board.  Then all by herself, Emily screwed the screws into the wood.  Here is the finished product.

Emily also likes to help Daddy with projects around the house.

How cute are they?  Happy Birthday to my wonderful husband and Emily's fantastic daddy!

  1. Lynn and Jeff share a birthday. He always asks if he will forever get his presents wrapped in "patriotic paper" Being a aNYer, that day hit hard, but both Jeff and Lynn are WELL worth celebrating!!!
