Finally....Snow!

Emily has been wanting snow all winter!  The first few years of her life we have had a lot more snow than is typical for our area.  Christmas of 2010 we even had a white Christmas.  This winter has been very warm and no one has been getting much snow anywhere.  Emily and I kept hoping for at least one snow this season.  It finally happen Sunday afternoon/ night, February 19th!  It started raining first and then came the freezing rain.  As soon as we saw a few snow flakes mixed into the freezing rain we went outside to check it out.

Emily had fun trying to catch the snow on her tongue and sliding down her icy slide. 

Later that evening it switched over to snow completely.

It was pretty and we had right around an inch.  It wasn't a lot but it was better than nothing.  The next morning Emily and I were outside before 8am.  It was going to warm up quickly and we wanted to make the most of that inch of snow. 

We managed to do all the things Emily had been wanting to do. 

We built a little snowman. When we first went outside the snow was really dry and wouldn't make a ball at all so we had to use the snow shovel to collect the snow into a pile for our snowman.

We made snow angels!

We even managed to do some sledding!

It was a good thing we went out early because most of it was gone before lunch.  It didn't last long but we enjoyed every minute of it being here.
