Emily's School Egg Hunt

On the last day before spring break started Emily's class had an egg hunt at school.  They each brought in 12 or so eggs filled with candy and money.  The candy was for the children and the money was for a local charity group.  Emily used money from her piggy bank to fill the eggs and offered to do chores to get more money if she can out:).  What a sweet girl!

I was one of the parents helping with the egg hunt.  We counted all the eggs that the children brought in and figured out how many they could hunt for.  Each child could get 13 eggs.  We numbered the eggs 1-13 and hid them in the front of the school.  They kids made a bag for the eggs and they were given a list with numbers 1-13 on it and a marker.  They had to find an egg with each number on it and mark it off as they went along.

Once they found all 13 of there eggs they went to a table to sort the candy from the money.  They got to keep the candy and they sorted the money into pennies, nickles, dimes, and quarters.  Then they got to choose one piece of candy to take to lunch!

The egg hunt was fun and it was more challenging than a normal egg hunt and they were able to help other people too!
