Snow Day

Last week we finally got some snow.  This was our first snow of this winter and 2013!  Emily was beyond excited when it started snowing last night.  We had thundersnow which was really weird.  It was snowing hard and thundering and lighting!  Crazy and apparently really rare!

Emily was so happy!  No school and a friend was coming over to spend the whole day with her!

We played in the snow early.  We were out a few minutes before 8am.  We played for awhile but the snow was pretty frozen over with sleet so the girls came inside to warm up and then we went back out about 10am and found some other neighborhood friends to play with.

It was a really icy snow so building a snow man was not easy.  We kind of picked up ice blocks and put them together to get a big pile.  We did manage to make two little snowmen.  This is snow man #1.

The girls also enjoyed lots of play time inside.  They played Doc Mcstuffins, Princess Sofia, dress up, playdoh, made cookies and they watched some TV.

It was a fun snow day! We did go out and play in the snow later that afternoon too.  A week later we had a early release day because of ice. I guess it really is winter now!
