Emily's First Visit To Biltmore

Friday we kept Emily out of school and headed up to Asheville to see the Biltmore House all decorated for Christmas.  Despite the heartbreaking news of the day, we managed to have a good time together, thankful that our girl was safe with us.

Twinkle must have know we were going to Biltmore because we found her that morning with our Biltmore House ornament.

We made Emily close her eyes until we took her to the top of the hill and she opened her eyes and saw the house for the first time.  She said," WOW, it's a castle!"

We headed to the eat lunch at the restaurant that is in the old stables and then we had fun looking in the gift shops.  They are so beautiful at Christmas!

Then we headed to the gardens.

Then we walked to the waterfall.

Then we made our way to the house.  It was beautiful at Christmas!  I hadn't been there at Christmas since I was a little girl.  They had 67 Christmas trees in the house!  Of course, you aren't allowed to take pictures in the house.

When we came out it was starting to get dark!  The lights are beautiful!

Emily took this of us in front of the big tree outside.
