Halloween 2013

Emily's class had a day full of fun activities planned.  They started off with pumpkin activities.  We scooped out the pumpkins and wrote down words to describe about what we saw, smelled, felt etc. We estimated the number of seeds in our pumpkin. Then we sorted and counted the seeds using ten frames.  The children got to design the face.  The adults carved and then the kids decorated the pumpkins.

Then they did leaf art with fall leaves they had collected.  Here is Emily working on her leaf man.

After lunch the children had  songs and poems to perform, a parade, and snacks related all four seasons.  I will blog about the afternoon activities later.  It was a fun but busy day at school.

Emily was really excited for trick-or-treating later that night.  Here is our Princess Sofia the First all ready to go.

The royal family.

The gang was ready to go.

We had a fun night and Emily ended up with a yummy collection of candy!
