Nutcracker Tea

This year we decided to kick off the Christmas season with a Nutcracker Tea at the O'Henry Hotel.  They do many special themed teas at the O'Henry each year.  This was our first.  It was so much fun!  Our friend, and fabulous photographer, arrived before us to get some pictures of the room and a few of us as we arrived.  You'll be able to tell which pictures were taken by Peggy and which are mine I'm sure.

When we walked in the hotel we were met by carolers.

The centerpieces were amazing!

This was our sweet table.  We were seated at the Toy Soldier table.

They had ballerinas from a local dance studio dancing and posing for pictures throughout the tea.

Emily chose the hot chocolate!

Jeff had the apple cider.  I had the holiday tea.

Of course, Clara was there too.

The chefs brought out gingerbread houses for the kids to help decorate.

They also were able to make snowflake and cupcake ornaments.

We got to hang out with the Nutcracker.  He whispered in Emily's ear that her snowflake ornament was the best he had seen all day.  She was thrilled!

Emily and Daddy watching the dancers.

Then the carolers helped us sing "The 12 Days of Christmas".

Everyone was told to stand up and yell "FIVE GOLDEN RINGS"!

Then Clara invited all the children to sit by the tree as she read the story of the Nutcracker.

It was such a fun afternoon.  Before we left we each got a charm bracelet and a candy cane charm.  Each time to come to a special tea you get a charm and at your first tea you get the bracelet too.  We also left we left over food all boxed up and yummy Christmas tree cookies.  It was so much fun!
