Easter Week

Happy Easter!

We had a great Easter week full of spring fun!

We planted flowers.

Got new sand.

We went on walks.  This is the outfit Emily choose to wear around the block one evening.  You can't keep a princess down:)

We did Easter art and painted eggs.

Emily had an Easter egg hunt at preschool.

Emily went to see the Easter bunny which she figured out was someone dressed in a costume.  She came up with the theory that this was one of the Easter Bunny's helpers because the Easter Bunny must be too busy to sit at the mall.

On Good Friday Emily wanted to build a cross with her Daddy.  She was so proud of the cross they built.

On Saturday we dyed eggs and baked.

Rice crispy treats cut into spring shapes.

Then we made a bunny cake.  Now you can see why I always order her birthday cakes from a bakery.  We tried our best on this cake.  At least we had fun doing it:)

Emily set out her Easter basket for the Easter Bunny to fill and made a picture for him.  She also left him some carrots!  The Easter Bunny comes to pick up the basket at night but brings it back filled and hides the eggs while we are at church.  Jeff has to be at church around 6 am on Easter Sunday so we wait to do the basket and egg hunt.  We were excited to have carrots right out of the ground.  I usually buy the bags of baby carrots:)

The next morning her basket was gone.  The Easter Bunny left a note and this is what was left of the carrots.

After church we came home to find Grandpa and Aba and Nana who came to visit for Easter. Emily also found her Easter basket and hunted for eggs in the backyard.

Speaking of Easter baskets... there were many for Emily this week.

Easter basket one from Grandma and Grandpa Fran.

Easter basket two from Grandpa.

Easter basket three from Aba and Nana.

Then Easter basket four was pictured above from the Easter Bunny.  Yes, that is a lot of candy.  You may notice that the Easter Bunny didn't fill her basket with much candy, only a chocolate bunny.  He must have known that we already had A LOT of candy!

Here is Emily eating her chocolate bunny that she was so excited about.

We had a wonderful Easter celebrating Jesus resurrection!
